Candidate profile: Michelle Landry, LNP

LNP candidate for Capricornia, Michelle Landry.

Michelle Landry

I live: in Rockhampton/Capricorn Coast my whole life

I chose to run for the seat of Capricornia because: Capricornia is the electorate where I was raised and where I decided to raise my two daughters. It’s a community I truly love.

I joined the LNP because: it is party of small business, a party that promotes aspiration and the value of hard work

I work as: I have been the Member for Capricornia since 2013. Before then, I owned a small business, worked at NAB and a pathology clinic.

I have: a wonderful Mum and Dad, two brothers, nieces and nephews and two beautiful daughters

I believe the three biggest issues facing the electorate are: Topics that people regularly raise with me include:

• cost of living,

• health, and

• the economy, which includes taxes and jobs.

My three most important policies: LNP policies include:

• reducing cost of living by halving the fuel excise and lowering taxes for Australians

• investing $1.7 billion in roads and dams across North and Central Queensland

• $296.5 million to improve healthcare access for people in regional, rural and remote areas
