Most sought after event almost here

We are a week out from the return of the ‘Game of Kings.’ An event that personifies fashion, horses, champagne, entertainment, attended by thousands of people that is great for our visitor economy.

The Rockhampton Jaguar Land Rover Pop Up Polo is the most sought-after event on our region’s calendar, held next Saturday 3 June, 2023 at Victoria Park.

In its fifth year, this event is expected to grow even more this year after attracting more than 3500 attendees in 2022, with 33.5 per cent of those being from outside the Rockhampton region. This is a positive boost to our region’s visitor economy. Rockhampton Regional Council and Advance Rockhampton proudly sponsor Pop Up Polo each year, activating our riverside parklands at Victoria Park and encouraging locals and visitors to get out and enjoy our warm winter sunshine.

At this year’s Pop Up Polo you can enjoy a boujee day out while you soak up the award-winning entertainment, glamour, excitement, and premium catering the day has to offer. Beyond the polo action, you can also expect a number of other fun thrills throughout the day including the divot stomp, fashions on the field, car vs pony race and of course, the traditional men’s and women’s dash, which is always a laugh among spectators.

We are fortunate to have amazing social events like to Pop Up Polo on our event calendar, giving people even more reason to come and visit Rockhampton, spending money in our hotels, hospitality venues and enjoying our tourism experiences. It is also a great to see our retailers busy as both locals and visitors hit the stores to ‘frock up’ or ‘dress up’ for the weekend.

Boutique shopping is a special experience. It’s a chance to find unique, one-of-a-kind items that are perfect just for you. Rockhampton boasts several boutique shopping experiences with everything from men’s, women’s and children’s fashion and accessories, beautiful home décor, and giftware.

From the East Street Precinct to our suburban delights, we are lucky to have passionate business owners and we encourage you to spend local in Rocky this Pop Up Polo.

If you’re a local or adding some extra days on to your Polo experience, make sure you get out and enjoy some the warm winter sunshine in the Beef Capital next weekend with our latest blog that includes some of the things you can do in our region.
