St Aubins Village Wedding and Events is a premier wedding and event venue located in Rockhampton.
Surrounded by picturesque gardens and quaint cottages, the two-acre property boasts a paved courtyard and a rich history that dates back to 1870.
Under new ownership since June 2017, Brian and Janice Dawson have transformed St Aubins Village into Rockhampton’s hidden treasure.
But it all started in 2016 when their daughter Lauren Myors got engaged and began looking for her dream venue.
“At the time, we couldn’t find anywhere we liked or jumped out at us,” Lauren said.
“Mum and dad knew the owner of St Aubins Village, which had been closed for 12 years, and ended up approaching them.
“We began planning the first wedding the venue had seen in years before officially opening St Aubins Village for other weddings in February 2017.”
Since the grand re-opening, St Aubin’s Village has been a popular destination for customers to dine, shop and go on historical tours.
“The teahouse is old-fashioned and serves high-quality, freshly baked goods,” Janice said.
“The barista, Angela, makes delicious tarts, cheesecake and slices.
“Our boutique gift shop has a wide variety of locally-made items such as jewellery, handbags, homewares, soaps, candles, baby items and other accessories.
“The venue is just a wonderful space for peace and quiet and to catch up with friends.”
Looking to the future, Lauren revealed that St Aubins Village has a mix of public and private events planned.
“We host live country music with simple food every month on a Friday night,” she said.
“It’s been quite popular, and we’ve already sold out for our April event, so keep an eye on our website for more information.”
St Aubins Village is open Monday to Friday from 8.00am to 3.00pm, with the weekends reserved for private functions.
