As the Rockhampton Museum of Art celebrated its first birthday on Saturday, 25 February CQ Today took to the streets to ask people what their favourite thing was about the art gallery.

I was there for one of its first weekends, and it was really cool to see the local art. I love the location. Upstairs has a beautiful outlook over the river, it’s nice how they incorporated nature within our museum.

I like the displays, and I like the Hummingbird Cafe. I recommend that a lot to people.

I haven’t been there yet, but I am planning on going there during the two weeks that I am here in Rockhampton. I’ve walked past and thought about looking around at what’s in there. I was here when it opened up, but it’s just getting time to do it.
