YUM (Yeppoon Ukulele Movement) is a Yeppoon based ukulele group that meets twice a month for communal singing and playing.

During 2022, members have played at public events including Rockhampton’s River Fesstival, Rubyvale’s Community Fair, The Caves Show and Christmas carol singing outside IGA in James St.

Smiling locals and visitors joined in with singing as they passed by doing their shopping over the last threeTuesday afternoons.

Singing and playing music together has been a bonding experience for all the members, some of whom have only taken up playing ukuleles in the last few years.

YUM’s first meeting for 2022 will be on Sunday, 8 January at the Garage at the Community Centre at 80 John St, Yeppoon. Sessions run from 3pm to 5pm and there are ukuleles available to borrow if people wish to try it out.
