2022 Brigalow winners

The 2022 Brigalow Arts Festival winners were announced at the official opening night at the Banana Shire Regional Art Gallery last month in Biloela.

Banana Shire Art Gallery Association Inc. proudly presents the Brigalow Arts Festival, Banana Shire’s local visual art awards.

Brigalow Arts Festival is hosted annually in October at Banana Shire Regional Art Gallery.

It is a free event open to the public and is held from 14 October to 25 November.

The Official Opening and Awards Night on Friday, October 14 opened its doors at 5.30pm for guests who enjoyed a creative selection of fine art, photography, textiles, sculpture and decorative art on display.

Winners from this year’s festival include:

BANANA SHIRE COUNCIL ACQUISITION: Roz Glazbrook, Inviting

MOORE ACQUISITION: Gail Thomas, The Inquisitive Pair

QUEENSLAND NITRATE PLANT ACQUISITION: Carmen Beezley Drake, View to Mt Larcom Mud Flat

LOCAL ARTIST AWARD: Roz Glazbrook, Inviting and Picnic at Junction Park 1920

YOUTH ENCOURAGEMENT AWARD: Miaoer Guo, Noodles

FIRST PLACE: Gail Thomas, The Inquisitive Pair

SECOND PLACE: Sarah Larsen, Nature’s Amphitheatre

SECTION 2 – Themed section: Nature

SECOND PLACE: Sandra Harold, Marsh Wader
