St James Anglican Church (Church of England) was built in 1911 with funds raised in London at St James Church, Paddington.
“Pennies from Paddington to build a church somewhere in the bush in Queensland” was the aim of the fundraising effort.
The land in Yeppoon was donated by William Broome and the church built, with the opening in October 1912.
After serving the congregation for 97 years, the church was deconsecrated in 2010 and the congregation moved to a new, larger church at Housden Place.
The building was sold and in 2013 was relocated to a site off Farnborough Rd where it now serves as a private residence.
