Hard work paying off

The surplus revealed in the final Budget outcome was delivered off the back of the former Coalition Governments strong economic management, sky-high commodity prices and Australians being forced to work even harder to make ends meet thanks to Labor’s cost of living crisis.

The cruel and sad irony for Federal Labor is that this budget windfall has been delivered by an industry the Albanese Labor Government is doing it is best to destroy through market interventions, cuts to innovation funding and unworkable employment laws that will do nothing apart from make it harder to invest and create jobs.

Both the OECD and the RBA are warning of slower growth, higher inflation, and higher unemployment over the next year.

Australians need more than ever a government with a clear plan to grow the economy, repair the Budget and bring down inflation.

Instead of delivering this economic reform the country so desperately needs.

Federal Labor is distracted by its Canberra Voice and fighting employers.

I spent the past week in the north of the electorate visiting community groups which is always one of the great pleasures of my job.

I am happy to say the QCWA Collinsville Hall is officially open.

I am so proud to have delivered $425,000 for this vital infrastructure project for the Collinsville community.

The QCWA is the heart of any rural community and does far more than make great scones.

They are the backbone of regional, rural, and remote Australia, so it was a no brainer when the Collinsville branch members reached out for help to rebuild their old hall.

Congratulations, to the ladies.

Their hard work has paid off and I am so happy to have been along for the ride.

Whilst in Collinsville I also paid a visit to the Collinsville CYC. This is a not-for-profit organisation that provides children and teens with a safe space to chat, learn life skills and fun activities.

I also popped into the Pioneer Valley Golf Club, West Leagues Club Mackay and the Pioneer Valley Agriculture Society whilst visiting the stunningly beautiful Pioneer Valley Region.

It was an opportunity to check out the Ag Show Society’s new UHF radios they purchased with funding I delivered.

It was great to pay a visit to the Marian Ladies Bowls Club who were successful in their application for funding through the Stronger Communities programme.

The club was able to purchase a new mower to help keep their lawn in tip top condition.

Investment into community groups to assist with upgrading equipment and amenities supports the opportunity for growth and delivers many social benefits.

I am proud to have delivered this funding for the Marian Ladies Bowls Club.

I also paid a visit to Sarina Aged Care to visit Sharon and the team at Sarina Aged Care.

This was an opportunity to hear about some of the challenges which regional aged care facilities face and how places like Sarina Aged Care are overcoming them.

It was a busy week and a very rewarding one, I urge you to get involved in your local community in any way you can.

You will make new friends and give back to the place in which you live. It is a wonderful feeling.
