Celebrating local businesses

Celebrating local businesses and providing valuable insight into billions of dollars of project deliverables, Capricorn Enterprise is proud to announce our two signature industry events for 2023.

Best in Business Awards – Rockhampton and Capricorn Coast, Capricorn Enterprise and Capricornia Chamber of Commerce are joining forces once again to present the 2023 Best in Business Awards.

Celebrating local businesses and enterprises that make our community truly unique, the Awards provide a pivotal platform to highlight our exceptional broad industry drivers who are using innovation and expertise to move the region forward.

As leaders in regional business and industry engagement, Capricorn Enterprise and Capricornia Chamber of Commerce developed the awards process as an apolitical, business-focused event, independently judged by a panel of six industry experts.

Nominations in the following nine categories are now open until 11 October:

– Best New Business

– Best Small Business

– Best Community Enterprise

– Best Large and Medium Business

– Best Sustainable Business

– Best Employee as nominated by an Employer

– Best Apprentice or Trainee as nominated by an Employer

– Best Business Manager or Owner

– People’s Choice

This year’s Awards will once again provide a positive impact on businesses and people across our community and celebrate many local operators who provide excellence within our region, making it a superb place to work, live and play.

With an array of categories fitting every type of industry, regardless of size, we encourage as many local businesses as possible from across Rockhampton and the Capricorn Coast to enter.

We sincerely thank our returning sponsors including Johnson’s 4WD Repair Shop, Stanwell and IPA, along with our new sponsors in 2023 including Apprentices and Trainees Queensland, Vector Health and Performance, Piranha Insurance Brokers, Telstra, Evans Edwards, Banana Station Beef and Pat O’Driscoll Real Estate.

Major Projects and Industry Forum

Central Queensland’s reputation as the economic powerhouse of our state will be made known once again at the 2023 Major Industry and Projects Forum, to be held on Thursday 19 October at the Frenchville Sports Club in Rockhampton.

Featuring 12 keynote speakers covering the overarching topics of Regional Futures and Projects, Health and Education, and Energy, the Forum will bring together decision-makers, all delving into future industry trends, collaborative opportunities, regional insights, and key developments leading to new economic opportunities.

Our strategic location and abundant natural resources positions us positively for future opportunities as our state continues to grow.

This valuable annual Forum provides an essential meeting place for key industry representatives to hear first-hand about future trends, forthcoming projects, and regional challenges.

Principal Engineer Connections Policy and Process at Energy Queensland – Christina Green, will share her extensive experience in demand management, network planning, generation and customer standards, strategy, and network connections.

She will join returning and valuable speakers such as Dr Emma McCahon from Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service, Gene Tunney from Adept Economics, and Mark Cope from SunWater (Rookwood Weir).

The Forum’s anticipated panel discussion will return, raising important discussion among the like-minded individuals filling the room.

Capricorn Enterprise is proud to continue bringing industry representatives together to focus on important improvements helping to create a more innovative, sustainable and competitive industry that the entire region benefits from.

We also look forward to the Forum’s post-networking VIP event, proudly sponsored by the Frenchville Sports Club, whose team will showcase the Club’s exciting future development plans.

Early bird ticket registrations are now on sale now at www.ivvy.com.au/event/C99Y94/.
