The Wandal community club smashed some ‘personal best’ records last weekend as they hosted many of the teams, parents, officials and supporters in Rocky for the Touch Football Junior State Cup.
Club General Manager Jack Hughes was stoked to host so many teams over three massive nights at the venue.
“Hats off to our remarkable team who managed to serve some 570 meals on Thursday night, another 470 meals Friday night, and finish off with over 400 meals last Saturday night,” Jack said.
“It was fantastic to host teams from Townsville, Palm Beach, Dalby, Brisbane Metro, Northern Gold Coast, Queensland Touch Football officials and referees, and of course the Rocky Redbacks who hosted what was a huge carnival, providing a huge boost to the local economy,”
“It is fantastic to see events such as the Junior State Cup and the Queensland Country Rugby Union Carnival the previous weekend here in the Beef Capital.”
