FOOD GUIDE: ‘Catering’ for your needs

Award-winning cafe, The Two Professors, is known as a hub for locals to get together for brunch dates or to satisfy their coffee cravings at the city-centre location.

But business owner Letisha Frenken said they could also offer catering services for large and small parties.

“We have been offering catering for several years, but not many people know about that side of the business,” she said.

“At the time, we saw a need in the market to offer this service as there weren’t many people that had catering.

“So we decided to pivot The Two Professors to try something different.”

Ms Frenken said they provide various menu options, from mixed savoury, including sandwiches, bagels, wraps and croissants, mixed sweet, fruit and breakfast platters.

“We can alter our menu to meet dietary or special requirements,” she said.

“There also isn’t a minimum or maximum number of people.

“It does depend on how many people are attending an event and the type of food to determine the timeframe in creating a platter. However, the average time is between 24 to 48 hours.”

It is more than just food that The Two Professors can provide, with servers available to assist with events if required.

“Our next catering event is on the larger side with a hundred-plus people attending,” Letisha said.

“It will be the largest function we’ve ever catered for, and hopefully, there will be many to come.

“But we are happy to cater smaller events such as meetings or even bridal showers. It’s a vast range.”

The Two Professors is located at 49 William Street and is open seven days a week.
