Luncheon for Historical Society

Over 50 people attended this year’s luncheon conducted by the Rockhampton and District Historical Society.

The society does great work in the community maintaining and cataloguing a host of important historical material for current and future reference.

The society is self supporting and the luncheon is its only means of raising funds to be able to continue their good work.

Guest speaker at this year’s luncheon was Olympic and Commonwealth Games champion cyclist Kenrick Tucker who gave a most informative and interesting account of his racing career.

If anyone would like to see any of the material available or join the HIstorical Society themselves, then members will be available at Borough Chambers just over the bridge, next to the Police Youth Club in North Rockhampton, on Tuesdays from 10am to 2pm.
