Richie Robinson’s Bloomfield Dairy was located off Farnborough Road on land now forming part of the Iwasaki Resort.
Richie’s father started the milk run in 1919 with a horse and cart and two milk cans.
In the days before milk was sent to central processing facilities for pasteurisation and bottling, the fresh milk was delivered in bulk and measured out in jugs for each customer. Regulations regarding pasteurisation of milk eventually led to Richie giving up the dairy business and moving more to tractor based business.
