Anzac Day with the Historical Society

The Capricorn Coast Historical Society has locally produced two Anzac-related publicaton.

The first is by Norma Hempenstall, In Their Own Words – Writings from the First World War.

The front covers shows Herry Gower (right) with friend in Egypt in 1915.

On the back of the photograph is written “From Friends at the front, both filled with joy and hopes at getting the scalp of ‘Old Kaiser Bill’, before returning to Rockhampton.”

The second publication is Leaving Gallipoli – The Diary of Harold Tooker.

Both are available to buy at Capricorn Coast Historical Society’s premises at the rear of the Yeppoon Town Hall on Tuesdays and Saturdays from 9.30am to 12.30pm.
