New seat for hospital

Rotary Club of Mount Morgan has donated a new garden seat which is installed at the Mount Morgan Hospital.

Rotary Club President Craig Edmonston said the club became aware that some patients who had difficulty walking or were unwell needed a rest-stop on their way into the hospital. An old seat, since removed as unserviceable, had been previously located near the site of the new seat.

The Rotary Club applied for a Rotary International Foundation District Grant to partly fund the purchase of the seat.

This application was successful and the seat is now in place and is in good use. The actual installation was carried out in an expert manner by hospital staff. The Rotary Club contributed the balance of the funds from money raised in the local community.

The Hospital’s director of nursing, Gordon Luck, thanked the Rotary Club on behalf of the hospital staff, patients, and visitors who would benefit from the installation of the seat.

Mr Luck said the seat would get plenty of use and would be greatly appreciated by those in need.
