Tree planting for Queen

Mt Chalmers residents at the commemorative tree planting ceremony for Queen Elizabeth II's Platinum Jubilee.

The residents of Mt Chalmers were recently invited to attend a commemorative tree planting ceremony hosted by the Mt Chalmers Community History Centre.

The ceremony was to celebrate the Platinum (70 year) Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II and held at the Mt Chalmers Community Park.

The tree, Buckingham Celsissima (Ivory Curl) was planted near the Anzac Memorial and accompanied with a plaque mounted on a slag brick which is believed to have come from the Mt Chalmers mine.

This significant historical event was enjoyed by all who attended.
