The Glenmore Bulls and Brothers Kangaroos joust for the second place position has been ongoing through the season and there’s no surprise that it will come down to the final game of the regular competition.
The Glenmore Bulls currently sit in third place, one win behind their local rivals Brothers Kangaroos.
The Brothers must come up against the Yeppoon Swans this week, and with an already inferior percentage to the Bulls, Brothers are likely to end up in third place.
There is one last challenge that stands in the way of the Glenmore side’s potential leapfrog, that’s the Gladstone Suns.
The Suns have had a rough season but have picked up a single win this year, which came against the Rockhampton Panthers.
With Gladstone heading into their final game of the competition the side will be eager to finish the 2021 season on a high.
The last time Boyne Island Tannum Sands Saints and Rockhampton Panthers AFL teams clashed the rain wouldn’t stop pouring.
This weekend is set to be sunny so it’ll be interesting to see how that match differs from their round 10 affair.
That match ended with the Saints winning 10.8 (68) to 1.11 (17), kicking off BITS’ big run into the finals series.
Both BITS and Panthers are secured in their positions of fourth and fifth respectively with Panthers missing out on the finals.
A win in this match could lead the Boyne Island side towards the elimination final where it will meet either the Glenmore Bulls or Brothers Kangaroos.
In the women’s AFL Capricornia competition three teams will possibly seize the moment and finish in the top three.
Brothers Kangaroos and Yeppoon Swans will battle each other with the winner gaining a massive advantage.
Those sides sit in the best position with a win for either team securing their place in second position.
Whichever side loses will open the door to the Rockhampton Panthers which currently sit in fourth position.
A win would see the Rockhampton squad finish level on competition points with the loser of the Swans and Brothers clash.
With some goal differential to catch up on, the side will be hoping for a huge win over the BITS Saints, which plays its final game this weekend.
In the final match of the round, the Gladstone Suns will come up against the minor premiers Glenmore Bulls.
Glenmore and Gladstone are cemented in their position and will finish the season in first and last respectively.
