Strong competition drives prices

For the first sale of 2026, Nebo combined agents saw a strong yarding of feeder and fat cattle with 591 head coming to hand, consisting of 230 Steers, 129 Heifers, 201 Cows, 16 Cows and Calves, 5 mickies and 10 Bulls. With three processors operating on the fat cattle, we saw very strong competition, which reflected in the prices, with cows topping at 386c/kg. Good lines of feeder steers and heifers also met with strong competition.

L & M Kister, Nebo sold Brangus Cross Cows for 374c/kg to return $2060/hd

Perry Family, Braeside sold Droughtmaster Cross Cows and Calves for $1850/unit
