Exhibition time for Art Society

A Gala Art Event pop-up shop will be held in the QCWA Hall at Emu Park.

Royal Queensland Art Society Rockhampton Branch Update

It’s exhibition time for the members of the Royal Queensland Art Society Rockhampton Branch.

In excess of 60 new paintings will go on display at the Walter Reid Cultural Centre on East St from Tuesday, 14 June to Sunday, 26 June. The paintings will be displayed in the Front Door Gallery and is open every day from 9.30am to 2.30pm.

The club’s competition for 2022 is titled ‘Bright Sunlight’ and the entries will be on display with the winning entry being announced at their launch on Friday evening at 6pm.

The exhibition and launch are open to the public and entry is free.

Following the exhibition the club will be conducting a Gala Art Event in the QCWA Hall on Hill St at Emu Park.

This will be a three day pop-up shop of ‘all things arty’ so will include paintings, cards, woodwork and fabric works.

These items will be priced to sell and will be available from Friday, 1 July to Sunday, 3 July. Opening times 9am to 3pm.

Royal Qld Art Society Rockhampton has groups that meet on a regular basis on Friday mornings (oil phone Coral 4928 3878), Tuesday mornings (drawing phone Lyn 0409 059 332) and Monday evenings (ink/acrylics phone Sandra 0409 464 998) in room 1.1 Walter Reid Centre.

Visitors and new members are welcome.

Member Elizabeth Cooper will also be holding another watercolour course on Saturday mornings 9-10.30am from 23 July to 13 August. Liz’s last course was very successful. If you are interested or to know more phone Liz on 0448 192 307. Liz is also planning on a one- off acrylic on canvas class to celebrate the beginning of Spring. This is scheduled for Saturday, 10 September, from 9am to 11am.
