Capricorn Coast Great Australia Day Beach Party organisers are encouraging the community to help make this year’s beach party a safe and successful community event for all.

Cap Coast Community Events chairman Bill Ludwig said the ‘signature’ community event is an opportunity to reflect, respect and come together to celebrate everything that is great about being an Australian.

“This year a key focus of our organising committee team has been to put measures in place and promote the importance of everyone attending playing their part by taking precautions to minimise the potential risks presented by Covid-19,” Mr Ludwig said.

“Bringing masks, social distancing and staying away if you are feeling unwell are all practical precautions that every community member and family can take to ensure we have a fantastic and safe community event for everyone to enjoy.”

The event will start early with the traditional Great Australia Day Fun Run, organised by the Cap Coast Runners group with registration from 6am for a 7am start.

Entry is $5 and open to all ages.

Everyone’s favourites will there with market stalls, amusements rides and food vans all getting underway from 9am.

The stage program and CQ Today Sand Sculpture competition kicks-off at 11am with the Capricornian Beach Games and Bare Bottom Boat Regatta commencing at noon.

The committee are proud to present a sensational line up of stage entertainment sponsored by JJ Richards and the day will culminate with the JRT Monster Fireworks Finale.

A full program of the activities on the day will be available on the Great Australia Day Beach Party Facebook page or Website http://greataustraliadaybeachparty.com.au/ .

All attendees will be responsible to check-in with the Queensland Check-In App. There will be multiple QR Code Check-in Signs around the event area for individuals and/or family groups to check-in.

Audience members attending will be able to move freely to and from the site and unvaccinated audience members will not be excluded.
