Remember the Underwater observatory?

This 1980 photograph contributed by the Capricorn Coast Historical Society shows the Middle Island Underwater Observatory at Rosslyn Bay. It was built in Yeppoon by Greg Goody and launched around the Bluff from where it was towed to the harbour by the Araluen. After further work it was towed to Middle Island by the Fiesta and bolted to piles driven previously. Courtesy of Judith Ruddell.
